  How many changes since you have been out?

  pixel's boe letter made me think of this.

  i have been out since january 2006. here are the ones i can think of:.

  Interesting to see is how much the organization and its teachings have changed in the past five years:

  • Book study has been dropped

  • Auxiliary Pioneer hours dropped to 30 hours

  • Both parents can now count four hours each month for family study (was only one of the two)

  • The magazines have been reduced from 32 to 16 pages

  • A first JW store has been opened and many have book stands where they can just sit and wait

  • Brooklyn has been sold off (for over $1B)

  • Branch offices have been merged and many closed down and sold off (42 closed so far)

  • The WTBTS is dealing with a number of lawsuits for sexual abuse of children and currently in appeal for one that may set them back for more than $20M

  • New Elders book, with new DF offences (Brazen Conduct) and a harder stance towards DFed ones (no rides to the meeting)

  • Generation teaching has been changed (now overlapping)

  • 1919 has been dropped

  • Importance of Russell has been minimized

  • Faithful and discrete slave is now the Governing Body, instead of the remnant of the 144k

  • Two Governing Body members died and one new one has been appointed

  • The remnant has increased so significantly (2013: 13204), that partakers are now referred to as ‘mentally imbalanced’ and is no longer used as a sign on how near the end must be

  • No apologies have been given and ‘apostates’ are now referred to as ‘mentally diseased’, helpers of Satan, sitting at the table with demons – treated less than human

  • Pressure not to follow higher education continues

  • Pressure not to associate with DFed persons, including family members and minor children continues and appears to increase. The destruction of families continues

  • Refusal of Blood still continues to cost many persons, including Children, their lives

  • Propaganda videos (Caleb and Sparlock) are now produced for young Children

  • Articles on displaying Christ-like behavior and cultivating the fruitage of the spirit remain absent

  • The literature still continues to focus on the letter of the law that on the spirit of it and therefore continues to be a Pharisee organization – an iron fist in a velvet glove

  Could You Beat Anthony Morris In A Bible Debate or Apologetic s Discussion?

  do you think he really knows the bible like a hard-core christian apologist?

  does he study non-stop or does use his head mining the internet looking up the latest homosexual conpiracies while wishing he could wear his wife's dress?.

  You would not win, just as Dawkins cannot win from a creationist (see Youtube video of him with Wendy Wright). What does happen is that the creationist makes him/herself look ridiculous. In the case of Tony - just by his talk he has already made himself ridiculous - talking about wrong ties, tight pants, being homophobic, visiting Disney and more.

  A true Christian leader would be talking about matters as cultivating the fruit of the spirit and Displaying Christlike Compassion - but such material is no longer taught by the witnesses. Even Jesus account of "he without sin cast the first stone" has been removed from their new "silver sword" Bible.

  A not so loving phone call....

  i recently got a letter in my pillar box asking me to attend a meeting at the k.h.

  i ignored the " kind" request.. this was folloed up by a " loving" phone call with the question " do i believe in the organisation" my reply.

  " anyway what pissed me off was during the " loving" phone call i realized there was another " brother" listning in.

  Of course you can leave the cult "gracefully" but you have to be aware of every move. Just like on this call, you had to be aware not to say anything that can be used against you. You took into account that someone could be listening (2 witnesses) or that it could be recorded. When elders come to visit, we know we cannot speak openly and critical.

  Graceful would be openly stating you do not agree with the organization and therefore would no longer view yourself as a JW, yet to friends and family it would make no difference...

  Should I allow my mom to see the grandchildren?

  i feel that if you can speak abusive of your own son and wife and shun the.

  You are a package deal! What message would you be sending your children if they can go to grandma, but grandma has no respect for you. Also being present is desired -as she is for sure going to be secretly trying to witness to them. Again - package deal - all of nothing. The shunning is her choice!

  Why doesn't god do anything tangible now?

  i was always told that god did loads of stuff that was evidence of his existance.

  ususally very brutal things too (b#st@rd).. jesus walked on water and raised the dead we are told.. it seems to me also that the older the story, the more exaggerated it is...y'know...talking snake......global flood.. there are those that claim god speaks to them now and they alone 'know' it.

  (cuckoo!!!).

  Netherlands is a great for Information Technology. There are lots of companies that have their global datacenters here, the entire country has fiber connectivity and there ar many IT professionals - also amongst the JWs... So, this is a understandable Business decision and that is what it is - a business decision.
